Girls Night Out is more than just a party; it's a celebration of women helping women.
Every August, more than 1,000 of Charleston's leading ladies, business leaders, elected officials, sponsors and volunteers come together to support victims of domestic violence and their children.
Since it began in 1998, Girls Night Out has raised more than $1 million to support the YWCA Charleston's Resolve Family Abuse Program. Each year, the funds raised at Girls Night Out play a significant role in the YWCA Resolve's ability to serve victims and their families. These funds support critical maintenance to Hope House and the YWCA Resolve's facilities; important security precautions to protect both staff and victims; expanded staffing for critical programs such as counseling and legal advocacy; and resources for victims of domestic violence to become victorious and get back on their feet - free from abuse and pain.
Girls Night Out helps the YWCA Resolve meet the growing needs of families in the communities we serve - in Kanawha, Boone and Clay counties - who are facing the devastating impact of physical, verbal or mental abuse. Through our continued efforts, the YWCA Resolve is able to continue offering essential supportive services for victims of domestic violence who are seeking safety and self-sufficiency.
